Sweet Mei Mei

We are now in Guangzhou!  Lan Lan is so happy to be back to her roots!  She was welcomed with open arms from the Holt staff--they worked so hard to help her find our family.

Lan Lan is also very happy with her new sister.  It has been a delight to watch them bond.  They laugh and tease and have started to talk up a Chinese storm together!  We had originally worried that Lan Lan wouldn't understand Mei Mei's dialect.  No worries!

Mei Mei has the cutest laugh in the whole world!  It is almost musical, high and sweet with giggles.  So very precious!

She likes to do everything Lan Lan does and she is VERY curious--going through every drawer, suitcase, and bag--and continually getting into Lan Lan's backpack.  Kim, you will love the fact that Lan Lan is now getting payback for all her curiosity with your things!  LOL!

Mei Mei traveled well, taking the trip all in stride.  She was SO excited to fly on the airplane!  She is very easy going and happy-go-lucky.  If I had to describe her in one word it would be SWEET!  I find it amazing that this little girl, who has lived away from crowds most of her life, can so easily integrate into the new environment of not only family, but tons of noise, action, and people!

She is still ATTACHED to her Baba!  She puts up with me--but I think only to be polite!  I know that someday she will love me too--for now, I take the little bit here and there that she will give me.  I'm not above bribing her with M&Ms.

She keeps asking about her siblings at home.  She is especially excited to play with her little brothers.  In many ways she seems MUCH younger than ten--very common with adopted kids--and I know she is going to have a blast with all the siblings and toys at home.
