Small Wonders

I love the beginning of a new year.  It always brings new hopes and dreams and a chance to delve deeper into the past, thinking about what I want to change.  There have been years I have made lists of resolutions and others where I have simply come up with a few goals.

This year I simply feel the need to find more joy in all the little things.

I recently came across this photo of my grandmother.

She was such an incredible woman.  She was loving, patient and kind.  She had a unique combination of tender spirit, yet pioneer grit.  She was hardworking, yet always enjoyed the little wonders in this life--the first brilliant, yellow buttercups in spring, the joy of turning simple cloth into beautiful clothing, the imagined wonder of looking at the world through a baby's eyes.

I am focusing on enjoying the small wonders.

Wishing all of you a blessed 2014, filled with happiness and hope--and the wonder in the joys of this life.

Happy New Year!
